Teresa Hubka, DO, FACOOG (Dist.), FACOG

Bio: Dr. Hubka was the Chair of the Committee since its inception until 2009. Before that, she was Co-chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Government Affairs. She also serves on the Board of Trustees, the OMM Curriculum Committee, and is the ACOOG representative the AOA Bureau on Federal Health Programs. Her past committee appointments include the Membership and Promotions Committee (Chair) and the Bylaws Committee. At the AOA, she is chair for the Council on Women’s Health Initiatives and is a member of the Corporate Advisory Council. She has been an Illinois delegate to the AOA House of Delegates since 2000 and served as the president of the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society in 2000-2001. She is a board member of the Osteopathic Political Action Committee (OPAC) and is secretary/treasurer of the Illinois Political Action Committee. In addition, she is the department chair and Ob/Gyn residency program director at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine She is in private practice in general obstetrics and gynecology at Swedish Covenant Hospital.
   
David Adelstein, DO, FACOOG

Bio: Dr. Adelstein has served as a member of the Continuing Medical Education Committee since 2004. He is Program Chair for the 2009  Annual Meeting, and served as the Program Chair for the midyear meeting in St. Louis in 2007. He was a member of the Bylaws Committee in 2002. He is a delegate for the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS)/Bristol South District and is also a member of the Committee on Legislation for the MMS. Additionally, he is a physician mentor for the MA Board of Registration in Medicine. He served as president of the Massachusetts Osteopathic Society in 1997. He is in private practice in general obstetrics and gynecology in Wareham and is on the faculty at Des Moines University Medical School.

Sherman Dunn, DO, FACOOG
  Brooklyn, NY
Bio: Dr. Dunn is a 2007-08 health policy fellow at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been a general obstetrician and gynecologist at Coney Island Hospital Brooklyn, NY since 1993 and serves as the Osteopathic DME for the institution. He is a member of the Medical Education Committee for Coney Island Hospital as well as the NY College of Osteopathic Medical Consortium. He holds teaching appointments at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, and St. Georges University School of Medicine.

Thomas (Thom) McCurdy, DO, FACOOG

Bio: Dr. McCurdy became the Chair of the Committee in 2009 and is the ACOOG liaison to the ACOG Committee on Government Relations. He represented ACOOG at the Congressional Leadership Conference in Washington, DC in February 2008. He is the author for the committee information on this web page. He served in the Air Force from 1992-2000. He practices general obstetrics and gynecology at North Ottawa Community Hospital in Grand Haven, MI.

Jeffrey D. Postlewaite, DO, FACOOG (Dist.)
  St. Charles, IL
Bio: Dr. Postlewaite is the current President of ACOOG. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2004 and the Finance Committee since 2005. He served as the Secretary Treasurer from 2005 to 2008. He also was a member of the CME Committee and was program chair for the annual meeting at the Orlando Portofino. He is in private practice in Geneva, IL at Delnor Community Hospital.
